Volleyball Time!

I played in my first women's volleyball tournament of the year today...boy am I out of shape! I played okay, but it was very obvious that I wasn't as quick as I could be. This was my first test to see if I am healed enough to excercise again, which I am. I am glad because I have been itching to do something active. Now it is a matter of getting in shape to play well indoors and outdoors!

Not getting better...

I was feeling so good after my operation and thought that recovery would be fast...

Well, things went downhill Monday! I started feeling a lot of pain in my side and it hasn't gone away. Just taking Tylenol isn't enough. I tried to go back to work on Tuesday and Wednesday but had to take the rest of the week off. I walk like a gimp, and when I go to the store I have to request a motorized scooter (he he).

I went to my follow-up appointment today and the doctor was stumped. She expected me to be doing better than I am so she ordered blood tests and an ultra sound. THIS SUCKS! If I had known that it would be this much out-of-work time, I would have done this in the summer or over spring break.

So for now, I wish I could say it's going well but all I can say is hope all is well with you!

Jordan's Birthday

Well Jordan can officially turn 5 (even though she did on Dec. 30th)! She finally had her friends attend a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and they had a blast! It took it's toll on me however, so I will end it here...enjoy the pictures!

My Gall Bladder Is No More...

Well, I did it! My gall bladder was taken out on Tuesday the 13th of January! The surgery was supposed to take 1 hour, but it ended up taking 1 1/2 hours because there was a little trouble...I am not sure what the trouble was though hum...

In recovery it was supposed to take only 1 or 1 1/2 hours to recover, but it took me 2 1/2 hours. I couldn't pee (he he). Poor Justin! He had to sit in the waiting room from 11:30 to 3:30! He was a trooper!

So the recovery is going alright. The first two nights were rough so I decided to move to the couch and things got better. It was hard to be propped up in a bed. Jordan and Justin stayed home on Wed. to help out and they were loads of help! They did a great job. Then it was on my own Thursday and Friday...I got so bored!!!! I stopped taking my pain pills Friday and all of the nausea went away - boy was that a relief!

I am a little sore today because we had Jordan's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's and I was up on my feet more than I thought I would be...now it is sittin' on my butt and doing nothing (back to the boredom).

Gearing Up...

Well, it is Saturday the 10th and I only have three more days until I have my gall bladder taken out! I am feeling both relieved and nervous. I am relieved that I will not have to deal with all of that pain any more, but nervous about the actual surgery. I have heard that the doctor probably won't let me keep the gall bladder or the stones, but I will still ask. It would be cool to have the actual organ that has been inside me for 32 years!

So...wish me luck and I will post how it went!

We Graduated!

Justin and I started on our journey in May of 2004 and finally completed the process this October. We finished the MAST cohort program and in December walked at the graduation ceremony showing our family that we have earned our Master's of Arts in Science Teaching!!! There were times that I thought we would never finish and that the road was long, but we did it!

It's almost "Ho Ho" time!

This holiday season is going to be filled with love and laughter! We are hosting Christmas this year and I can't wait! Everyone is arriving Christmas Eve and staying a few days...the kids are going to have a BLAST!

We were up in Flagstaff December 14th when it started snowing there which helped create the holiday mood. Jordan had fun sledding down hills with dad and all by herself! She doesn't remember that she has already been sledding before so it was like her first time all over again!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year...people are in the giving spirit and more willing to help one-another. I hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday season! May you be blessed this season!
